List some reasons that an artist would need to use observations when making artwork.
Throughout the whole processes in the art 1 class I found that taking observations to be the most helpful thing I could do when trying to create a piece for a main project or lesson. When you observe an object your about to draw, paint, etc. it can make your piece look more realistic, easier to draw detail, and it can also make your painting stand out. For example, in my first main project it was artist observe and I drew a picture of a flower that I took a picture of previously.
What was the warm up or sketchbook assignment that you learned the most from?
The warm ups that I think I learned the most from would be when we would draw a letter in sign language with our hands. I found this most helpful because it helps you to learn how to draw items or other art that is bent on funny ways and it can also help you in drawing the detail on your hand.
Illustration Friday's have been completed almost every week this semester, do you feel this assignment helped you brainstorm for main projects or helped you skill levels in any way? Why, or why not?
I think that Illustration Friday's have helped me develop as an artist because they get you to think of different ways to protray a simple word through art. They can help you brainstorm because you can't just make what ever you want. You have to make a piece of art from one word but you can take that word and make what you want with that. It can also help you with different art materials because you can practice with them while making your piece for Illustration Friday.
In this piece I drew scooby doo because for the Illustration Friday of that week the word was "trouble".
